I’m a being ads evangelist actually just a big search nerd and I want to connect you and to add what you know in the business with what I know with search and give you five tips to help you get started and to be successful online.

5 Search Marketing Tips for Bing Ads

1. 3 Key Questions
2. Save Time
3. Get your customer’s attention
4. More Eyes on your Ads
5. Spend on what works

1. 3 Key Questions

So the first question I like to ask is
what are you selling? what are your products and services that make the most sense for you to sell online. What’s really cool about that that’s going to end up being your keywords right.

When somebody’s looking for these different terms and searching from you want to reach him and those are going to be your keywords

The second question you want to ask yourself is
why should somebody buy from you and not your competitors? what are those key differentiators? Those are the types of things that your customers want to see and that’s going to help you build the foundation for your ad copy. What people are going to respond to.

The third thing is
You know how much money you’re gonna make? what is your margin on your products? Those are the things you need to know because that’s going to translate into your bids and it’s going to translate into your budget and how much you’re willing to pay.

2. Save Time

We totally understand that you’re going to be building out campaigns and ads and keywords in Google and so we have a whole feature built around being able to import all of those campaigns with just a click of a button over into Bing ads. You can use it to sync everything over time. We detect the differences again it saves you so much time, makes you more efficient and effective.

3. Get your customer’s attention

There are three really easy things that all businesses should be doing with your ad copy.
i) Site Link Extensions
ii) Location Extensions
iii) Taking advantage of our longer ad headlights

Those three things actually together are really easy ways for advertisers to get a higher click-through rate and drive better qualified traffic and boost their click book.

4. More Eyes on your Ads

You want to be able to invest in the keywords in the terms that are returning the most for you and make the most sense. Let’s say that you’re a jeweller and you sell Necklaces. You might have the key word necklace in your campaign, you also might have white gold necklace. Now necklace maybe a very difficult word for you to show up on top there’s a lot of competition. Everybody sells necklaces but white gold necklaces are a little bit different more specific. Now if that term works well for you, what you can do is take a look and say all right I’m getting a return on white gold necklaces. I’m going to invest a little bit more and see if I can move up to the top because we know if you move up in those results you actually get more volume.

5. Spend on what works

Negative keywords are going to help you save money and you can find negative keywords by going to the search query report in the reporting tab. Let’s say I own a coffee shop right and I’m trying to sell coffee to people in the Seattle. Well in that report i’m going to see all the things that I’m matching to in all the different search terms that are coming up and I might find in their coffee filter or coffee maker, but I’m just selling coffee, I don’t have the equipment. So what I can do is easily add a ‘maker’ and ‘filter’ those terms don’t show up anymore. Save money, you spend more on what works. One of the big things i would also leave you with is ‘don’t set it and forget it’, come back revisit and take advantage of all the great resources that are free.
